Two Hungarian virologists - Bernadett Pályi and Dr. Zoltán Kis - are also amongst those honoured with the title.
Dr. Zoltán Kis pharmacist completed his PhD studies at the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunbiology under the supervision of Professor Éva Gönczöl. He received his summa cum laude PhD certificate in January 2009. After his supervisor's call he started to work in the National Center for Epidemology where he became the head of the Department of Respiratory Viruses.

The University of Szeged has reached a new milestone: a new precision robotic surgical device has been tested at the Department of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery at the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School, which could revolutionise the accuracy and safety of knee replacement surgery.
According to this year's national ranking of higher education institutions, the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School is the best faculty at the University of Szeged.
