Properties of human cortical cells

We have started to uncover the electrophysiological and morphological properties of human cortical cells. In the layer 1 we found GABAergic interneuron subtype human interneurons with anatomical features never described in rodents (Boldog et al, 2018). These cells have large ‘rosehip’-like axonal boutons and compact arborization and shows unique immunohistochemical profile. Continuing neural characterization of the human cortex we collecting data with different techniques in order to extract morphological, electrophysiological, ultrastructural and molecular features and dissimilarities to rodent neurons.
