Research activity:

  Examining eicosanoid synthesis in cerebral microvessels, in large vessels, in platelets:

-  its pathogenic role in various conditions (diabetes, epilepsy, hypertension, cardiac failure, multiple sclerosis),

-  examining the mechanism of action in case of certain neuropeptides,

-  examining the effects of medications in order to clarify the mechanism of action and side effects,

-  examining the role of eicosanoids in addiction/substance abuse (smoking, alcoholism)

  Examining the effects of certain diets on eicosanoid synthesis and as a consequence, on the pathomechanism, prevention and therapy of certain diseases.

The University of Szeged has reached a new milestone: a new precision robotic surgical device has been tested at the Department of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery at the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School, which could revolutionise the accuracy and safety of knee replacement surgery.
