Welcome

The Neuroimaing Research Group started up in 2009 covering a so far unmet need of the neuroscience community in Szeged. Since its inception the Group works in strong collaboration with various research groups in the Department of Neurology and other neuroscience related departments and institutes in Szeged, in Hungary and also abroad. Our core concept is to integrate the work of excellent physicians, mathematicians and physicists in the research group.

The MRI measurements are carried out on site on a 1.5T GE Signa HDx and a 3T GE Discovery 750w scanner in dedicated research time. A human neurophysiology lab, including a 96 channel EEG, a heat-pain  stimulator, a TMS and a tDCS device, eye tracker and a 3D spatial localisation system supplementing the imaging studies. A continuously upgraded IT infrastructure (storage and processing capacity) supports the lab.

The main research topics are pain and headache, multiple sclerosis and neurodegenerative disorders.
